The mission of DCAD is to provide a diverse and talented student population with thorough preparation in art and design within an innovative educational environment that combines theory and practice. The College's programs emphasize creativity, problem solving skills, technical expertise, knowledge of historical frameworks and critical awareness in the education of creative and responsible artists and designers. A faculty of accomplished professionals brings the College artistic and intellectual breadth and rigor; its members serve as role models and mentors. Through its professional associate degree programs DCAD provides students with the opportunity to continue their undergraduate education through transfer to four-year colleges of art and design as well as a foundation for successful and satisfying careers.
