Mission Statement
The Yale-New Haven Hospital Dietetic Internship's Mission is to train compentent, well rounded enrty-level dietitians to ensure the viability of the dietetics profession as the recognized experts and leaders in food and nutrition. This is accomplished by:1. Providing future professionals with the practice-based learning experiences in a progressive teaching, research and service-oriented environment to: a. Successfully meet the American Dietetic Association Competencies for Entry-Level Dietitians.b. Be eligible to sit for the Commission on Dietetics Registration Exam for Dietitians.2. Supporting the Hospital's and Department's missions of providing high quality patient care and customer service by training a qualified labor pool of individuals through supervised practice in clinical nutrition, community nutrition, management and research.
