Alabama DNP/DrNP Programs Overview

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP or DrNP) advanced degree programs prepare nurses for advanced clinical practice, or leadership roles in health care systems management, clinical care delivery, patient outcomes or clinical research. This degree will soon become the standard for nurses seeking to enter advanced clinical practice, making now an exceptional time to consider entering a DNP/DrNP program.

Current registered nurses who hold either a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) can apply for DNP programs, which will also require a minimum GPA, clinical experience and possibly GRE scores. DNP/DrNP students who can commit to a full-time school schedule will generally need approximately three years to complete this doctoral degree.

If your career goals include advanced clinical practice or assuming a leadership role with direct influence on health care systems and the delivery of care to patients, then a Doctor of Nursing Practice is a solid educational choice.

Browse through the colleges listed below to find the DNP/DrNP program that best suits your needs and will assist you in achieving your educational and career goals.
