Campus police officers provide a variety of duties including; officer patrols, enforce criminal and traffic laws, investigate crimes and provide community services such as unlocking cars and escorting students at night. The variety of experiences and duties involved in campus police officer careers make it a rewarding and at the same time challenging. Most college campuses require their police officers have at least the minimum degree offered by the institutions. Community colleges require Associate’s Degrees while four-year institutions mandate a Bachelor’s Degree. The degrees can be obtained in the traditional classroom setting or in many instances, via online course. All degrees should be from an accredited university whether it’s online or campus based.
