Illinois massage therapists practice under the authority of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations, Massage Therapy Licensure Department, which requires the completion of a minimum of 500 hours of professional massage therapy instruction and training through an approved massage therapy program before sitting for the state licensure examination.
