Becoming a substitute teacher in Kentucky is a great way to get into the classroom
and determine if teaching is the right career for you. If you already have your
Kentucky teaching credential, substitute teaching can provide you with an income,
networking opportunities and valuable classroom management skills while you apply
for a permanent teaching position.
Prospective teachers can apply for either an Emergency Substitute Teaching Certificate
or a regular five-year Substitute Teaching Certificate, which requires a teaching
credential.
