North Carolina CAD/Design Programs Overview

People who enter Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) schools are doing so for training in this technology that allows for the design of real objects and virtual objects in a 2D or 3D format. Students will be exposed to classes that explain things like how to use drafting equipment, reproduction techniques, basic CAD use, AutoCAD commands, geometric constructions, electronic schematic drafting, electrical drafting, and other CAD industry related program sources or techniques.

Who goes to CAD Drafting Schools?

People who go to CAD schools are interested in finding career-level jobs in many different kinds of industries that use computer aided design. These students often have interest areas in other places and use CAD drafting as a way of entering those industries.

CAD drafting is offered through trade schools, colleges, or universities to people who have graduated from high school or have a GED certificate. Courses are offered for just certification or as a part of a general education for an AA, BA, or Master Degree for this interest area. As a general rule, the people who earn the higher degrees have an easier time finding career-level jobs in today’s rough job market.

For people who would like more information about CAD drafting in all of its various forms, we suggest that you read through school course catalogs and class descriptions.
