Steps to become a teacher in North Carolina

After graduating high school or receiving your GED, people who would like to be a classroom teacher in North Carolina must then to go college in order to gain their four-year BA degree.

  4. North Carolina requires all teachers to participate in ongoing education in order to have their licenses renewed every five years.
  5. North Carolina requires submittal of official transcripts for all college courses and credits received.
  6. Have your teacher education program verify the completion of your teacher education program with Form V. Form V can be found in your teacher certificate application packet.
