- North Carolina requires all new teachers to have their BA degree from an accredited university or college.

- North Carolina requires their new teachers to pass a series of skills tests, Praxis, before a license will be issued.
- North Carolina requires all teachers to participate in ongoing education in order to have their licenses renewed every five years.
- North Carolina requires submittal of official transcripts for all college courses and credits received.
