Four Year Bachelors of Science in Nursing Overview

Four-Year BSN

Prospective nurses who obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and become Registered Nurses (RNs) are poised to enjoy abundant employment opportunities as the field of nursing experiences one of the fastest rates of growth across industries. Registered nurses who complete a bachelor-level degree program earn higher salaries and have more plentiful job opportunities than nurses who complete diploma or associate-level programs and generally have more responsibilities and more opportunities to provide direct care and services to patients.

A BSN degree typically takes four years to complete, after which prospective nurses complete the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Applicants for four-year BSN programs will need to have a high school diploma or the equivalent and can expect to gain knowledge and skills in both classroom and clinical settings.
