Legal Nurse Consulting

Legal nurse consulting is an exciting career choice that allows registered nurses to use their health care and nursing science knowledge to assist attorneys in interpreting medical records, understanding health care systems and hospital policies, screening medical malpractice cases, analyzing legal cases regarding health care and preparing their cases for court.

Registered nurses who choose to further their education and career through legal nurse consulting certification have the choice of supplementing their current nursing income by providing legal nurse consulting on a part-time basis, or to join the many legal nursing consultants who pursue this field as their full-time career.

Most legal nurse consulting certification programs do not require a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), but applicants must have a current registered nurse license and, in most cases, a certain amount of experience as a nurse prior to applying for a certification program.
