Wyoming Associates Registered nursing Programs Overview

Associates - RN

Prospective nurses often choose to begin their nursing career by completing an Associate of Nursing degree or an Associate of Science in Nursing degree, which prepares them to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Choosing this path allows you to become a Registered Nurse (RN) and begin to work in the field of nursing upon completion. Some students who choose this path go through their career at this level; however, many see this as an opportunity to become a nurse quickly, then earn a living and gain experience as a nurse while completing a bachelor-level nursing program.

Registered nurses provide direct patient care and services and often manage other staff, including nursing assistants and medical assistants. Nursing is a growing field and job plentiful job opportunities are available in hospitals, nursing homes, home health care settings and doctors’ offices.

Associate-level nursing programs generally take two years to complete and applicants will need to have a high school diploma or the equivalent to qualify. To find the nursing program that is right for you, browse the list of colleges below, which offer associate-level nursing programs.
