The curriculum of the Master of Science in Computer Information Systems (MSCIS) degree program requires 36 credit hours of course work. Students with some computer education but without an undergraduate or equivalent experience in Computer Technology may learn any missing skills and concepts through 3 to 12 credit hours of 500 level survey classes. The student then continues on to the 24 credit hour core program. Students with a computer undergraduate preparation will typically finish the program with 36 credit hours of graduate work. For students who do not have any computer background, there are two classes (6 credit hours) of undergraduate prerequisites that provide an introduction to programming and the foundational concepts underlying the Computer Information Systems curriculum.
