This class addresses two common causes of pain and poor posture: poor breathing habits and poor abdominal control. Students learn how correct use of the abdominals stabilizes the spine and low back pain, and how incorrect abdominal exercise actually worsens posture and interferes with breathing. Class includes lecture, anatomy and physiology of breathing and exercises designed to develop healthy breathing habits and correct abdominal tone. This class is also useful for yoga and fitness instructors, physical therapists and the general public.
