Each proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) class is a study from a clinical viewpoint. Students learn to combine knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics with tactile feedback. This allows the student to localize and identify the source of pain from a clinical perspective, and from there the student is taught treatment protocols using PNF stretching techniques to affect specific areas of indication. PNF is a technique of combining passive stretching and isometric stretching, and is currently the fastest and most effective way known to increase static-passive flexibility.
