Rasmussen College opened many doors for me. Not only did I learn the skills to make myself successful in the work place, but I also gained an amazing support system that will help me long after graduation. Rasmussen College gave me the flexibility I needed by offering online courses. This helped me move through my program without giving up things that are important to me.

I started at Rasmussen College last year. I was nervous about going back to school and knew that if I had to go to class on-campus, I would not be able to keep up with school, work, and my new son, so I started online in the Medical Assisting program.I didn't do very well in high school because of disinterest, and I ended up dropping out and getting my GED. I have to say, I feel completely different being back at school with Rasmussen. I was on the Dean's list the first two quarters, and this last quarter I had High Honors, which I am really proud of.Being online helps me manage my time - being home with my son and keeping up with my work. I feel like I am accomplishing something and that it’s possible because of Rasmussen College. The online program keeps me at a good pace with my work, and my instructors have been great.

I grew up here in Minnesota, and after High School, I joined the Air Force. I became an F-15E mechanic, and was stationed in England for 4 years, during which time I had many opportunities to travel. I visited Ireland and Scotland annually, was deployed to Turkey for three months and Italy for 2 months. I have visited Germany, Luxemburg, France, Switzerland, Austria, and Liechtenstein, but my favorite destination was South Africa. After having my fill of active duty, I joined the Air Force Reserves and came back home to Minnesota to become a C-130 mechanic. I continue to travel with my unit here in Minneapolis. I was activated from '03 to '05 for operation Enduring Freedom and had my fill of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Iraq, and Kuwait. I am now anxiously awaiting the arrival of the New Year and my first day of classes at Rasmussen College. As you could guess, I've seen and done a lot, but college is not one of them. I'm looking forward to seeing what Rasmussen has in store for me and my future.

I decided to go back to school for several reasons. My parents instilled a great work ethic in me since I was a young child. Having grown up with this has allowed me to go far. Over the years, I have trained in many fields ranging from advertising, accounting to managing departments. This has allowed me to get into great positions with some great companies.I have been very successful over the years making great money, however I want much more out of life. I just do not want to make good money, I want to do something that I love and enjoy. I want to choose a career that I will want to work in for years to come.As I get older, I find myself wanting to accomplish more in life. Some day I am going to be married and hope to have children, it is important that I show my children the true value of college when it is time for them to go. I can only do this by having done it myself. Set aside from setting future goals, going back to school is going to help me with skills that I can use to help build my investments through out life.Overall, going to college is going to assist me in becoming a better person and Rasmussen College is going to be there every step of the way, helping me to successfully earn my degree.

I grew up in foster care, so I was determined to make something of myself. I wanted to make 'LOTS' of money, no matter what I had to do.I first attended another school for Business Administration. Unfortunately, during my time there, I wasn't making 'LOTS' of money, but I sure was spending a lot of it and it seemed like it was for nothing. I tried and tried, but had no support. I was sad in the beginning that my first try at college was unsuccessful. I decided that I had to do something about it.The thought of transferring colleges made me scared and intimidated. I had a friend that was attending Rasmussen College. She told me about the school and I immediately looked into it.I decided to try again - this time around for Criminal Justice. After I started, my life changed immediately. I was even awarded Perfect Attendance for the first time ever. It felt great! This school has helped me in many ways with both my personal and professional life. I am excited to attend classes and meet new people and teachers. The experience has been great! I always recommend Rasmussen College to people I meet, and suggest that they should continue their education.I can't wait to graduate!
