The certificate in nutrition is offered in addition to the BS in Health Sciences 'Health Education concentration, with a specialization in Nutrition. The certificate prepares health educators to practice in schools, colleges, universities, and industrial cafeterias, and restaurants as food service administrators. They may be members of the health care team in acute care or long-term care settings or outpatient settings. Students are taking this certificate if they seek to teach, monitor, and advise people in public or home health agencies, daycare centers, health and recreation clubs, or government-funded programs, in issues of nutrition.
