For most nursing schools, there are several requirements that you will have to fill in addition to any of the professional ones. To gain admission to these BSN classes you must be of good health, without a criminal history and drug free, for instance. In some programs you will be tested for certain illnesses and diseases as well as immunized against others.
In addition to physical testing, you will have to take a number of placement tests in most of the BSN programs in the country. These could include the Nursing Entrance Test and other standardized placement test as well. Be sure to check Kansas City policy on this entrance test become many of them will limit the times that you can take and fail this test.
You will need to earn good grades in science, math and chemistry courses, so if you know that you struggle with any of these subjects, consider a tutor. You will also need a caring heart and the ability to stay calm under pressure. They do not teach those skills at any program, but if you possess them you can get the other skills you need at the Kansas City BSN program.
